Chris Carpenter, PE
Senior Associate Engineer Chris has 23 years of geotechnical engineering experience in the western US. He has specialized expertise in earthquake engineering following his graduate studies at U.C. Berkeley, and his involvement on various seismic studies dealing with the constantly evolving seismic design criteria in the Pacific Northwest. Chris' work has focused on seismic site response, settlement and stability analysis, evaluation of soil-structure interaction, ground improvement, foundations and LRFD design, and evaluation of landslide stabilization measures. A significant portion of his geotechnical engineering experience is associated with transportation and dam infrastructure projects. Chris has extensive experience preparing plans, specifications and engineering cost estimates consistent with State DOT, Local Agency and Federal Highway design standards. He has been previously approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as an Independent Consultant for dam safety inspections, and has completed safety inspections at numerous high hazard dams.
