Geotechnical & Geological Services

Cornforth Consultants, Inc. (CCI) provides comprehensive geotechnical services for Water, Energy/Power, and Federal markets. Our team commonly supports design teams developing plans for new and/or modifications to existing civil works infrastructure. The majority of our work is performed for projects located in the Pacific Northwest, Mountain States, and Alaska, although we regularly work across the nation when the problem demands our expertise.

Landslide Technology (LT) operates as a division of CCI and primarily supports the Transportation market for projects located in the continental US, Alaska, and abroad. Our LT division was established to pursue projects involving landslides, unstable soil and rock slopes, and rock slope/rockfall hazard mitigation. We specialize in geologic hazard identification and characterization, geotechnical asset management, and geotechnical & geological engineering for complex landslide, rock slope, and geologic hazard mitigation projects. 

Concrete Dams

We perform geotechnical services for concrete arch and gravity dams, spillways, and navigation locks.

Embankment Dams

We offer a broad range of technical services for earth and rockfill dams. Our team supports technical evaluations for existing structures and designs modifications when needed.

Levees and Canals

We provide services for dam, canal and levee owners including site inspections, levee rehabilitation studies, and stabilization design
We have four engineers recognized by the FERC as Independent Consultants for Part 12 dam safety and related inspections.

Rockfall ​Solutions

We provide geotechnical and geological engineering for State DOT’s, Hydropower Operators, and Utility Owners to mitigate rockfall hazards.

Geologic Studies

We have years of experience understanding earth movement and underlying geology of a project site.

Landslide ​Monitoring

We utilize conventional geotechnical instrumentation and remote sensing to characterize landslides and monitor movement.

We can setup remote monitoring solutions for a range of needs and utilize in house data solutions to get a greater understanding of the risks as a project site.
